The Ultimate Guide To Paperchase Treat Me

Instead of a points-based loyalty programme, Paperchase Treat Me sees you earning ‘Treats’ when you hit certain requirements. In this guide, I’ll show you how to register, break down the treat options, answer all your questions and help you figure out if Treat Me is worth it.

2023 Update - Paperchase Treat Me is now closed as Paperchase has ceased trading.

What Is Paperchase Treat Me?

Treat Me is the Paperchase loyalty scheme. Their offering is quite different from the norm, in that you don’t earn points and then redeem points for rewards. Instead, they offer specific ‘Treat’ rewards which each have different eligibility requirements.

Bear in mind, you can only use your card in-store or online, not in concession stands, and gift card, stamp or eGift vouchers don’t count towards any treats.

How To Get And Register A Treat Me Card

You can only get a Paperchase Treat Me loyalty card in-store (find your nearest Paperchase store). Unfortunately, there isn’t yet an e-version and concession stands don’t stock them. Whilst you can register for ‘Treat Me’ online, before picking up a card, you won’t start earning rewards until you’ve registered a card.

Once you’ve picked up a card, you have to create an online account or, if you have an existing account, you can register your Treat Me card here.

How To Redeem Paperchase Treats

You can redeem Paperchase Treats online or in-store. As soon as you’ve hit the requirements for a treat, it’ll automatically activate. Most of the Treats, as you’ll see, have short expiry windows.

You can’t deal stack or combine Treats with other offers (eg. 3 for 2 + £5 credit) and you can’t put credit Treats towards premium pens, non-Paperchase branded items, gift cards, sale items or stamps.

Paperchase 'Treat Me' Treats

I’ve listed all the Paperchase Treats, the requirements, the value of each Treat and the Treat expiry details in the table below. And it’s where the flaw with Treat Me really shows. Whilst the free/discounted delivery Treats are ongoing and only require registration with the loyalty scheme, all of the Treats which have spend requirements have short eligibility and/or redemption windows.

Treat Requirements Value Expiry
Free Click and Collect In-Store With £10+ Spend Register Treat Me Card £1.99 Ongoing
Free Next Day Delivery Upgrade With £30+ Spend Register Treat Me Card £4.50 Ongoing
Discounted Next Day Delivery With <£30 Spend Register Treat Me Card £1.51 Ongoing
£5 Credit Spend £50 in 6 Months £5.00 28 Days
£5 Birthday Credit Add Birthday Date In Account £5.00 28 Days
15% Off Next Purchase Register Treat Me Card Any 28 Days
Greeting Card (Up To £3) Buy 7 Cards in 1 Year £3.00 28 Days

For example, whilst the £5 credit equates to 10% Off a £50 spend at Paperchase, you need to spend that £50 within a 6 month period. In practical terms, that means infrequent shoppers will rarely or maybe never see the £5 credit.

The same is true for the free greeting card. You need to buy 7 cards within a 1 year period and once you get the Treat, you only have 28 days to redeem.

The £5 birthday credit is easier to earn since all you need to do is register your date of birth. But once you get it, as with the greeting card, you only get 28 days before expiry (consider setting a few reminders after your birthday if you want to take advantage of the discount).

What Is Paperchase Plus and Is It Linked To Treat Me?

Paperchase Plus is effectively Paperchase’s answer to Moonpig where you can create and send personalised cards and notebooks.

The offering at the moment is a bit unusual in that you need a separate login from your normal Paperchase account and it’s not linked to Treat Me at all. So buying cards through Paperchase Plus won’t count towards the free greeting card Treat, for example.

Other Paperchase Discounts

Paperchase offer a few discounts on top of their Treat Me programme. With most of these, you can’t deal stack, so you can’t usually combine these offers with other Treat Me offers

  • Student Discount - 10% Off Online (NUS) and In-Store (Sometimes boosted to 20%)

  • Heroes Discount - 25% Off for Education, Health, Social Care, Charity and Armed Forces Staff (Enter code from partner websites to redeem)

Is Paperchase Treat Me Worth It?

As with any loyalty scheme, I’d recommend signing up if there’s at least 1 offer you can take advantage of. Whilst this is true of ‘Treat Me’, with free/discounted delivery, the 15% Off Treat and the £5 birthday credit (as long as you don’t forget to spend them), Paperchase make it very difficult for infrequent shoppers to take advantage of Treats.

Unlike the majority of loyalty schemes, where you have points, rewards and longer expiry windows, Treat Me is purposely designed for frequent or high-spend customers. If you’re neither, just bear that in mind before looking at the Treats as incentives to spend.
