20. Aragorn - £19 / $24
The first appearance of Aragorn in minifig form, this version was actually released in 3 sets from 2012-2013. Nonetheless, the character’s popularity and detailed minifig printing have all helped increase the value of this minifigure.

19. Saruman - £19 / $24
Can be confused with the more valuable long-robed Saruman, this version has standard white minifigure legs (as opposed to a sloped robe piece). The head, hair, torso and cape pieces are shared between the two.

16. Ringwraith - £24 / $30
A simple design for such a sought-after collectors item, this Ringwraith minifigure features plain black head, hood and leg pieces. Whilst the torn, black cloak is exclusive to this minifigure, a white version was later used for the 2014 Witch-King minifig.

15. Arwen - £24 / $30
The 2013 Arwen minifigure features an exclusive hair piece (wavy and braided with elf ears). A dress piece replaces standard minifig legs, helping to increase the character’s height to Elven proportions.

13. Uruk-Hai Hand Print - £27 / $34
Whilst a few Uruk-Hai minifigs were released, this is the only one designed with a hand-print on the pearl dark gray helmet. Aside from the helmet, you’ll find all of the other printed parts feature in other Uruk-Hai minifig designs.

12. Soldier of The Dead 1 - £27 / $34
If you’re looking for sand green castle helmet and cape parts, you’ll find they’re exclusive to the 2013 Pirate Ambush Set. Whilst similar minifigs were released in the same set, this is the only one which features scale armour on the torso.

11. Soldier of The Dead 2 - £27 / $34
Sharing most of the same parts with Soldier of The Dead 1, this 2nd variety has exclusive torso printing. You can see more of the belt, gold chainmail and green tunic as this minifig lacks the scale armour printing.

10. Haldir - £28 / $35
Haldir came with the 1330 part Battle of Helm’s Deep set. The torso and legs feature an exclusive elven armour print and this is one of the few LEGO minifigures to include pearl gold arms.

9. Pippin - £30 / $37
Another hobbit in minifig form, Peregrin Took (Pippin) was released in the 2012 Mines of Moria Set. The torso print, complete with a dark tan scarf, is exclusive to this minifigure, as is the reddish brown tousled hair piece.

Like the sand green helmet on the Soldier of The Dead, the sand green crown piece is exclusive to the King of the Dead Minifig. The minifig itself can only be found in the 2013 Pirate Ambush Set.

7. Gandalf The White - £33 / $41
Much harder to find than Gandalf The Grey, this Gandalf The White minifig features an exclusive hair piece and ‘Robe’ torso print. The head piece is shared with other Gandalf minifigs but it was also later used for the 2015 Hank Pym minifig (from Marvel’s Ant-Man).

6. Merry - £40 / $50
Meriadoc Brandybuck (Merry) was released in minifig form in the 2012 Attack on Weathertop set. Sharing most parts with his fellow Shireling minifigures, Merry has exclusive head and torso prints.

Not to be confused with the more common Wizard Battle Set Saruman, this version from the 2335 part Tower of Orthanc set features a robe piece in place of standard minifigure legs. The pieces that make up the rest of this minifig are all shared with the more common design.

4. Aragorn (Red Cape) - £44 / $55
Sharing the same head print with the more common Aragorn minifigure, this Gondor-armoured Aragorn includes exclusive torso and leg printing. The cloak piece, red on one side and black on the other, is also a rare piece.

A main character from the relatively expensive Battle of Helms Deep set, the King Theoden minifigure features uniquely designed parts with gold detailing. Even the torso print is intricate despite being hidden from view by the moulded breastplate.

1. Grima Wormtongue - £88 / $109
Whilst the massive Tower of Orthanc set included minifig versions of more popular characters (Saruman and Gandalf), this was the only place you could find a Grima Wormtongue minifigure. Combine the high set cost with character exclusivity and detailed printing and you’ve got yourself one valuable Lord of the Rings minifigure.
